DELIVERABLE GOALS: MAIN TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • To support improvements in pharmacy, logistic and supply chain management in PHASE health project locations in Mugu district in Nepal. The post is 100% field-based in remote areas.
  • Responsible for coordinating and optimizing medicine procurement, storage, distribution, and inventory management processes.
  • To collaborate with local level authorities, health coordinator and healthcare providers to maintain an accurate list of essential medications and supplies needed for health facilities.
  • Ensure necessary permissions, quality certificates and licenses are obtain for the goods that are procure by the organization and local government.
  • To support local level health professionals and managers to prepare procurement plan.
  • To ensure all procurement procedure principles are follow as per the public procurement act and regulations.
  • To ensure supply chain of medication and equipment are maintain.
  • To provide logistic and pharmacy management training to the health workers.
  • Supportive supervision of the health centers and onsite coaching regarding the logistic management.
  • To supervise health workers in monitoring inventory levels, expiry dates, and quality of pharmaceutical products to prevent stock outs and wastage.
  • To provide inventory management and bookkeeping training to the health workers.
  • To coordinate with central office, suppliers, distributors, and partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of medicines and equipment.
  • Ensure logistic activities as per the government and PHASE guidelines.
  • Prepare reports as per the government and PHASE formats.
  • As required, liaise between project areas and office, and other organizations linked to the health projects.
  • Do any task related to the PHASE health program as deemed appropriate by line manager, as long as it is within the employee’s competence – in particular, but not exclusively

JOB REQUIREMENTS/ REQUIRED PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • At least Diploma in pharmacy and registered in Nepal Pharmacy Council (NPC) with minimum 2 years of working experience in related field.
  • Should have sound knowledge and practice on inventory management.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to living and working in remote location as well as flexibility to be redeploy to another location as required.
  • Ability to observe, problem solve and accurately analyze situations, act calmly and make sound decisions in pressurized situations.
  • Willingness to learn basic indigenous language to communicate with the local community.
  • Ability to stand in front of a group of people, funding donor, senior managers or community leaders and present information without showing fear or arrogance.
  • Well motivated, team member able to work alone and/or without supervision. Have sound judgement and the ability to make difficult decisions independently.
  • Training and experience on eLMIS and DHIS-2 preferred.

PHASE Nepal will provide accidental insurance of NRs. 2,000,000/- for employee member and medical insurance of NRs. 2,25,000/- that covers the employee and his/her up to 2 dependent family members.

2. Trainee Research Associate – Career Track

We also implement various research projects in partnership with different universities from the UK and organizations from other Asian and African countries. Around 70 colleagues work with PHASE Nepal as full time staff and hundreds of volunteers help to accomplish our research and implementation activities. PHASE Nepal is currently looking for suitable candidates for the following position:

Position: Trainee Research Associate – to be progressed to Research Associate

Duration: Currently we are looking for three (3) Trainee Research Associates to work in PHASE Nepal’s research activities. We aim to promote one of them to a Research Associate as PHASE Nepal’s regular staff at the end of their mentorship period. Based on performance evaluation at the end of first 6 months we will continue 2 of them for the next 6 months and follow the same performance evaluation approach at the end of 12 months to continue one of them to develop as PHASE Nepal’s core staff to work as a Research Associate to lead organization’s research work longer term.

Duty Station: It is a Bhaktapur (New Thimi) based position with occasional field visits to project/ research sites.

DELIVERABLE GOALS: MAIN TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support in coordinating, planning, organizing, and conducting research.
  • Support in scientific literature search, critical review and produce a state-of-art knowledge.
  • Support in the development of qualitative and quantitative research instruments, including structured survey, semi-structured interviews, and focus group discussion for primary data collection.
  • Help explore, identify, and collect data from the secondary sources.
  • Assist in training to interviewers, enumerators, facilitators, and note takers, employed for qualitative and quantitative data collection.
  • Transcribe and translate qualitative data to prepare for analysis.
  • Clean, consolidate and prepare the dataset for quantitative data analysis and help in coding for qualitative data.
  • Assist in preparing the periodic reports to summarize project progress and help write up for publication, presentation, or for the use in further applied or theoretical research activities.
  • Assist in data collection to conduct KII, produce Participatory Videos and Survey.
  • Ensure research ethics maintained throughout the research period.
  • Coordinate with different department (HR, Logistic, finance as and when needed for project implementation).
  • Other responsibilities shall be assigned as per the requirement for this position.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/ REQUIRED PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • At least MPH or equivalent degree in any health-related discipline preferably with specialization in Global / Public Health, Research Methodology, Disability, Physiotherapy, Nursing etc.
  • Fresh and bright candidates with aim of developing their career in Research will be given priority. Full mentorship and occasional professional training will be provided.
  • Candidates with experience in research, mainly in conducting Key Informant Interviews (KII), Focus Group Discussion (FGD)/ in-depth interviews, Field Surveys and using participatory methods are preferred but experience is not an essential criteria.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English and Nepali.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
