PHASE Nepal is a not for profit NGO established in 2006 by a group of development professionals dedicated to supporting poor communities in remote areas of Nepal. For the last 10 years PHASE Nepal has been implementing Health, Education and Livelihoods improvement programmes in Humla, Bajura, Mugu, Gorkha, Sindhupalchok and Kavrepalanchok districts.  Currently, PHASE Nepal’s projects are funded by PHASE Worldwide UK, PHASE Austria, City of Vienna-Austria, NTTI USA, Lindsay Cooper Singapore, Hrothgar Investment Limited Singapore, Global Giving USA, Global Giving UK, Innocent Foundation UK, DFID UK through PHASE Worldwide, BLF UK through PHASE Worldwide and other individuals and organizations from different countries. PHASE Nepal was heavily involved in earthquake relief projects which were funded by DiakonieKatastrophenhilfe (DKH) Germany, Caritas Germany, Caritas Austria, People in Need, UNHCR in addition to regular donors and currently some of these donors are funding various reconstruction projects. Currently PHASE has over 150 staff working for different projects.

Currently PHASE Nepal has the following vacancy:

1. Position: Logistics and Procurement Officer 

Requirement:

Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services.  Direct and coordinate supply chain, liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and the project team for timely supply of the required materials. Maintain complete records of movements of all stock items and ensure that balance in the books reflect the physical stock. Maintain files for monthly stock report, signed delivery order & Goods Received Note (GRN). Conduct perpetual stock taking & Submission of reports to the management as per the requirement. Ensures effective stock control and maintains accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials.

The post is based in Kathmandu with travel up to 60% in the project areas.

Duration: Short term with possibility of extension based on performance.

Salary: NRs.35,000 – 45,000 /- month  

 Experience and Qualification: 2 years of experience in similar capacity in development sector after completion of Bachelor’s degree in management or equivalent. Should have good reporting and documentation skill. Proficient in Microsoft office packages with excellent verbal & written communication skill in English and Nepali language.

2. Position: Civil Sub Overseer

Duration: Short Term

Duty Station: Sindhupalchok

Qualification & Experience: Should have passed Sub Overseer in Civil with one year of work experience in WASH project or rural drinking water supply system (Gravity Flow System).

Salary: NPR. 15,000- 20,000 /- per month

3. Position: Research, Monitoring& Communications Officer 

Required Number:

Duty Station: PHASE Nepal Office, Bhaktapur with occasional travels to project areas and working district headquarters. 

Salary & Benefits: NRs. 43,470/- per month (basic starting salary scale) plus 10% provident fund after three months of probation period, one month’s salary as festival bonus after working for a year, plus medical facility and accidental insurance. Lunches are provided at the office and TA/DAs while in travel. 

The Research, Monitoring & Communications Officer will be reporting to the Programme Manager and is responsible for overall Research & Monitoring of PHASE Nepal in coordination with project staff members. Should build good rapport with government offices and local bodies. 

Required Qualification and Competencies: 

  • Master’s Degree in any disciplines with minimum 2 years’ of experiences or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any disciplines with minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in similar job. 

Key responsibilities include

  • Prepare proposals and get approvals from Social Welfare Council, district line agencies and different ministries for different projects.
  • Report to government ministries, Social Welfare Council and district line agencies on the progress of the PHASE and activities.  
  • Represent the PHASE in different forums and network with government and nongovernmental organization.
  • Update PHASE’s website and facebook pages.
  • Organize public auditing and DPACs.
  • Must have excellent command in report writing and communication skill.
  • Must have fluency in both speaking and written English/Nepali language with touch typing skill.
