In the last few months a total of 155 girls from Kolti, Siradi and Cholu villages of Kolti VDC received two weeks of empowerment training and performed a week of project activities taking part in the PHASE Girls Empowerment Programme. Seven groups of girls were coached by 7 different facilitators. These girls groups will continue to receive support from a seed fund for activities that they will plan themselves in order to improve the situation of girls in the schools and the community.
PHASE is running the girls empowerment programme in Kolti VDC of Bajura with funding from Eco Himal. This year a total of 244 girls have already attended the PHASE girls empowerment programme facilitated by 20 local young females.
“I was very shy on the first day of ToT (Training of Trainers) when I had to introduce myself. Now I have successfully run two batches of empowerment workshops. I feel great because I am more confident now and I work on behalf of the girls from my own village”.
Shushila Mahatara, 21, PHASE girl facilitator
