Over the last year, but particularly since the earthquake in April, PHASE Nepal’s management team has grown significantly to account for the larger number of projects and different donors. We would like to introduce you to our new management staff.
Ashistha Joshi- Deputy Finance Manager
Ashistha has a Master’s degree in business studies and is pursuing her ACCA accounting qualification, she also has a Diploma in Finance Management. She has more than 12 years of working experience in the field of accounting, finance and auditing in different organizations. At PHASE Nepal she is in charge of the finance department and is supporting the team to develop smooth processes of work, develop internal control policies, prepare reports, participate in budget preparation activity and networking with donors and auditors.
Raj Bahadur Shahi- Project Manager
Raj has an academic background of agriculture science and has worked for different governmental and non-governmental organisations such as CARE Nepal, World Vision International Nepal and Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training. Raj is excited to work with the PHASE team and will contribute to capacity building in livelihood projects, food security and livelihood and nutrition improvement. He most enjoys project design, report writing and monitoring. The PHASE strategy to work in hard to reach areas of Nepal inspires and motivates him.
Sunil Acharya- Project Manager for UNHCR projects
Sunil has more than 7 years of experience managing different developmental projects in Nepal, including more than 4 years in WASH and a few years in child related projects. More recently, he has been working in emergency and humanitarian response to ensure people with disabilities, older people and other vulnerable groups are included in response and relief activities. Sunil has joined PHASE Nepal as Project Manager for the Shelter Assistance and TLCs project funded by UNHCR. He says ‘I am happy to have a team with diverse backgrounds and have a challenging job full of responsibilities- I love it.’
Shiva Raj Acharya- Human Resources and Administration Manager
Shiva joined PHASE in October 2015. Shiva is currently supporting the development and fine tuning of the HR and Administrative policies in the office. He has more than 15 years of experience in the sector of HR and Administrative Management and an MBA in HR Management and MA in Sociology. Prior to PHASE Nepal, he has worked with different INGOs including UNICEF mostly in the sector of HR and Administration.
Maya Gurung- Communications and donor relationship manager
Maya came to Nepal 17 years ago as a volunteer from Belgium. Her education and career background is in civil engineering. Maya is fluent in four languages including Nepali and is excited to join PHASE Nepal as communications manager to ensure that donors, partners, staff and volunteers around the world are kept up to date with PHASE Nepal’s latest achievements and news.
